27 Weeks

How Far Along: 27 Weeks

Size of baby: eggplant
 Total Weight Gain/Loss: 15 lbs

Maternity Clothes: yep, I just got a few new things from Old Navy and a cute top from Katie and Phil for my B-Day so I think my stash is done growing.

Gender: BOY

Movement: all the time and becoming stronger!  He even woke me up the other night from a deep sleep.

Sleep: is getting better. I still don’t sleep like I used to but I guess that is just my bodies way of preparing me for what is to come.

What I miss: not feeling like crap 24/7.  Feeling yucky is really starting to get old.  Even on my good days I don’t feel great and I’m ready for this to end.  Good thing it will all be worth it in the end!

Cravings: none really.  I eat fruits and veggies because they are not heavy. I made myself eat ½ a turkey melt last night to get some protein but eating is a chore most days.  There is just NO room for food.

Symptoms: just a general yucky feeling.  As long as I can get up and move it doesn’t get too bad.  I spend lots of time standing behind my desk at work and I pace in the hallway at home in the evenings just to try and move things around.

Best Moment This Week: celebrating my B-Day at work today!  My coworkers are super sweet.  They had donuts when I got here and cupcakes for lunch time.  Since I’ll be gone on my actual day they arranged my special day around my schedule!  They really are the best!

Milestones: Baby's lungs are going through some major developments these days, which (combined with the opening of previously plugged nostrils) means he's now able to practice inhaling and exhaling. The lack of air in your womb means every "breath" is filled with amniotic fluid, but hey -- it's progress. This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother him, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Vacation week.  I’m a little sad that Luke and I aren’t vacationing together but we are each getting the vacation of our dreams and for that I am so happy.  Luke leave on Saturday for a week of fishing in Alaska and I leave on Monday for a week in Hawaii!  Luke is going with his dad and I’ll be with my family so we are both going to be with people we love.  Life doesn’t get much better and we are so thankful for families that spoil us!

  1. You look so good! I can't believe you're 27 weeks already! Where has the time gone?

And yes, our BOYS can definitely be roommates at OSU! :)
